This online web exhibition shows various images from a Shops and Shopping Exhibition running at Goole Museum from March 8 until April 26. The exhibition is being developed by volunteers.
Use the SEARCH link to browse the 204 images currently in the collection. Results can be restricted by choosing specific categories (eg. only show "shops in Aire Street in the 1930s" or "outfitters in Pasture Road"). Results can further be restricted by highlighting one or many keywords.
All those who would like to get involved with the exhibition, loan or donate items, show photographs or tell their stories are invited to get in touch or call in at Goole Museum.
The museum is also looking to recruit more volunteers. Anyone who has an interest in Goole and district's history and heritage and who would like to meet new and like minded people is more than welcome to apply. People of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to volunteer and experience of working in a museum is not necessary.
In return, volunteers will gain new experiences and knowledge and be part of a team which benefits the museum and the local community.
